Kinship Psychology provides Employee Assistance Programs to businesses across the Perth metropolitan area through face to face, telephone, online video counselling and critical incident support counselling.
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides employees with employer-funded counselling sessions to support early intervention that can limit the impact on job performance and an employee’s mental health. An EAP works with and supports employees in relation to both work-related and personal issues. Many employers extend this service to immediate family members of employees as well. Support provided through an EAP is not limited to work-related concerns; it can include support for relationship/family issues, other life stressors, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance misuse and other addictions.
Benefits of an Employee Assistance Program
An EAP works to support an employee’s emotional and psychological wellbeing. Both employers and employees benefit from an EAP as early intervention results in higher employee productivity, reduced absenteeism and increased staff retention. This kind of support often leads to early intervention of major concerns such as depression and anxiety, which can reduce worker’s compensation factors and other medical costs.
