Individual Counselling

Individual counselling is tailored to the needs of each client. It can support people to navigate a broad range of human experiences, as well as to recover from a variety of mental health conditions. Each client’s unique needs and presenting issues are identified and used to develop a treatment plan.  The treatment plan will also indicate agreed goals to be achieved.  Treatment plans can be reviewed and adapted to reflect the client’s changing needs.

Whether you’re experiencing grief and loss or adjusting to significant life changes such as the birth of a child or transition out of a career; experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges; feeling unfulfilled and disconnected; stressed about the demands upon you; or simply seeking to improve your general outlook and approach to living,  individual counselling can provide the tools and emotional experiences to help you recover and achieve the outcome you’re seeking.

At Kinship Psychology our clinicians are trained in a variety of evidence-based individual counselling intervention modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy.  We appreciate that building a safe and trusting relationship with your therapist is key to recovery and growth, and that having the ‘right fit’ with your therapist is just as important as the specific intervention tools that are used. Therefore, we have a team of clinicians and will always work with you to find the right fit of therapist for your individual needs.
