Dr Kirsten Panton

PhD, MPsych (Clinical Psychology)

We admire Kirsten’s genuine care for her clients as she sensitively explores people’s experiences with authentic curiosity, while utilising evidence-based interventions. Alongside her work at Kinship, Kirsten is developing a youth suicide early intervention service through a partnership with The Samaritans, Ruah and Telethon Kids Institute.  She provides treatment for children, adolescents and adults.

Kirsten completed her Master of Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Western Australia (UWA).  She works from a variety of treatment modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and has extensive experience as a group program facilitator.  We believe that it’s her collaborative and trauma-informed approach that clients value most, as she tailors interventions to each individuals’ needs.   She works with a variety of presenting issues, such as trauma experiences, anxiety, mood disorders, suicide behaviour, interpersonal difficulties, and general emotional regulation difficulties.

Kirsten’s approach helps to enable her clients to find a way back to feeling connected with themselves and with those who are most helpful to them.
