Having worked across a variety of fields in Psychology, I am proud to have established Kinship Psychology Services. At Kinship, my central focus is to cultivate a safe and trustworthy environment, empowering dedicated, compassionate and skilled professionals to apply their expertise to the fullest. Here, we collaborate with our clients, emphasising a strengths-based approach to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Since graduating from the University of Western Australia, I have worked within both private and public settings, helping people to better understand what they are feeling and why, as well as to regain a sense of purpose and connection. Ultimately, helping them to achieve their emotional and therapeutic goals. I work with diverse clinical presentations though predominantly focus on trauma experiences and attachment-based disorders, particularly within the veteran community, including their family members. I draw from various treatment modalities such as Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, I develop and facilitate group therapy, psychoeducational programs, leadership training, and initiatives for cultural change within workplaces.
I am most passionate however, about embracing the values of the Consumer Movement and harnessing the profound wisdom derived from people’s own lived experience. Since leading a team of professional Lived Experience Peer Practitioners within the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, I am enthusiastic about integrating this invaluable knowledge into the fabric of Kinship Psychology Services. I am confident that those who engage with our wonderful team here, will experience the enhanced therapeutic relationships and outcomes from the approach we take and the values we hold.
